Privacy and cameras
Does GymCams use face recognition?
No. Not for check-in, not for analytics, not as an option. Check-in uses a QR code or a phone number.
Do you see our camera footage?
No. Counting runs on your own recorder or cameras, or on a small box on your network. GymCams receives totals only: a zone, a 15-minute slot, people in and out.
Do we need new cameras?
No. Many current IP cameras and recorders can count line crossings. Tell us the brand and model and we'll check. You can also start with check-ins or a door counter.
Can we count in locker rooms or restrooms?
No. GymCams won't accept a count source in locker rooms, restrooms, showers, changing or tanning rooms.
What should we tell members?
We give you a sign for the entrance and sample wording for your membership terms: cameras are in use on the floor, areas are counted by the hour, no face recognition, no cameras in private areas.
Check-in
Does it replace our membership and billing software?
No. GymCams doesn't take payments. Import your members from a CSV export of the software you use now.
What happens when a member's plan is paused or expired?
The kiosk asks them to see the desk, and the staff side shows the flag. Nobody gets locked out by the software; your staff decide.
How does the capacity counter know who left?
From a door counter or camera line counts at the exit. With check-ins alone, GymCams estimates from typical visit lengths and labels it as an estimate.
Can guests sign our waiver on the tablet?
Yes. Upload the waiver your lawyer wrote; guests sign on screen and the signed copy is saved with the date and the waiver version.
Compliance
Which checks come built in?
Starting templates for AED checks, fire extinguishers, exits and emergency lights, first aid, cleaning, locker rooms, sauna, pool and spa water, equipment, staff certificates and documents. You edit every one.
Does GymCams make our gym compliant?
GymCams keeps the records your staff enter and reminds you of the dates you set. Which rules apply to your gym, and meeting them, stays with you and your local authorities.
Can we show the log to an inspector?
Yes. Print or save a PDF by date range, area or check, with initials and notes on every entry.
The pilot
What does it cost?
Pricing is quoted per gym, by location and the parts you use. Pilot terms, and any cost after the pilot, are in writing before you start.
Where are you, and where do you work?
We're in Miami, Florida, and work with gyms anywhere in the US. Setup and training are by video call.
Can we take our data with us?
Yes, any time: CSV for each list, a PDF log, and a full backup file.
